Professor Emir Macari was approved today for confirmation to the Alfred E. Alquist Seismic Safety Commission on a 5-0 vote in the Senate Rules Committee.
The vote came on Senator Darrell Steinberg's recommendation.
During the course of a review by Senate staff, CSUS officials confirmed that Macari voluntarily stepped down as Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
